i guess it just goes to show how much of the human experience is increasingly mediated by market forces
"Market forces" is just a way to say "those means by which people produce things other people want and get things they want." To be free of that is a profounded lonely and limited existence, romanticized most often by people who fetishize low consumption

i think i strongly disagree? three kids in a treehouse in the woods are getting something from each other. three kids on facebook are also getting something from each other. do those both seem equally market-based to you?

i dont want to be completely free of the market, but it creates distortions that i would like to be free of sometimes, in some situations
