Computers, tables and consoles aren't critical to any particular child's development, they're just far, far more enriching than what most kids have otherwise, especially since not long after my own childhood parents became terrified to let them go outside unsupervised

But it is very feasible to keep a home that kids can use as their own miniature lab/craft depot, which for many kids is preferable to unhindered computer access. I'm inspired by the slime craze
