I don’t know that there is evidence that say that, other than some non peer-reviewed computer simulations about viral droplet dynamics. I’m not saying they’re wrong, only that we don’t have conclusive evidence. If people want to stay further away than 6 ft then fine by me.
We don't have "conclusive evidence" to support 6 feet; it's based on recommendations out of Wuhan at least as early as January. Newer work concerning a hospital setting — not simulated spray — suggests risk in enclosed spaces at >10 feet. Outdoors? Who knows.
