I'm increasingly inferring from the way this is playing out that the main mode of transmission really is sharing an air pocket w/ an infected person. Sharing an air pocket is a (mostly) synchronous mode of transmission, vs. surface-based which can be asynchronous...

  Yes all the clusters I’ve read are wedding receptions, St Patrick’s day bar, buffet dining, choir, a school, and then longer exposure rest home or cruise ship. All indoors sharing air. This has to massively inform our post shelter in place world.

  Could be that air pockets and surfaces spread evenly BUT we beat surfaces way before air pockets. Many I know were hand sanitizing and not touching their faces long before donning a mask.

  And... Boxing matches, loud discos. Anywhere with alcohol as that means spit and lots of shouting. It hardly seems to transmit by surface contact. German scientists couldn't even find traces on obvious contact areas like door knobs of those infected.
