I wouldn’t presume to assess the practice from a woman’s perspective of course, but I’ve never experienced it as intrusive and traditionally it’s not a practice reserved for strangers.
I thought I'd made this as obvious as was reasonable within the confines of a 280 character limit format, but: I'm talking about handshaking as a form of greeting between people who don't know each other well enough to be touching each other anyway.
what about subways? libraries? music venues / festivals? seems like an awfully broad stroke to say society should organize itself around not touching strangers, people in Europe will literally kiss each other on the cheek as a greeting
