Presumably he's talking about people wealthy enough to own significant equity but not wealthy enough to know how to create a financial vehicle like this However 1. That's hardly "the masses" 2. This protects the donation, not Jack — he's not coming out ahead personally

The suggestion that charity should be taxed (if it's coming from the rich) is relatively new & based on the idea that the rich shouldn't determine which causes get funded. To see the same logic implied wrt COVID-19 is startling. We're not talking about a donation to an art museum
