Lockdown can't persist until a validated treatment or vaccine. I take COVID very seriously, and I don't think it's reasonable to pursue herd immunity. But we need to start seeing some solid proposals for the next phase of the war.

If data shows that variolation reduces chance of hospitalization 3-30x (an enormous yet plausible effect size), then anyone who is currently risking getting a large dose from their environment (housemates, grocery runs, etc) can expect it's best to fold their cards and variolate

I have a hard time believing the typical person in an imperfect lockdown (e.g. semi-protected grocery runs, housemates) is getting a particularly large dose. Makes sense for health workers, grocery workers, etc.
