I think the evidence for cloth masks is really ambiguous and we're all making a high stakes call in an environment of intense uncertainty. (The evidence for non-cloth masks is much stronger, but we have shortages of those.)

Full mouth coverage and nose coverage (N95) with no eye/skin protection might show efficacy for a while, but I'd anticipate that constant exposure will catch up to you eventually — again, why it's important for all these things to be held constant, but esp. duration & infectivity

it's quite possible that the effect of masks goes beyond just filtering particulates, diffusing/slowing exhaled air flow (especially from sneezes/coughs) likely does affect how far and for how much time aerosols/droplets can be suspended and transported in the air

Haven't seen infection rates nearly high enough in these studies to suspect we're hitting that point, though I guess maybe there's high enough immunity in the population that lowish infection rates are compatible with 'everyone was exposed'.
