User error is a big issue here though. We tried to implement mask use in high risk groups on farms & I'm reporting what we saw there, which also jibes with what I see going out in public over the last 2 months: sitting masks down on tables then re-doffing, touching them, etc.
People may do that, but they also rub and scratch at themselves constantly *without* masks, often directly *into* their orrifaces. I started wearing nitrile gloves (sans mask) in Feb, then mask + gloves, & the main problem has been not constantly poking my face when they're *off*

It's a joint probability of 1 coming into contact with the virus, and 2 not having protection. If you are in a hospital proper use is a necessity. If P(1) is low some error in usage is less critical and still reduces risk.

Its only the North America and West Europe doctors, Asian doctors has been pro mask since SARS. Also take a look at all Italians now, big surprise they all have masks on.
