To be fair, "we listened to some experts who misled us, but only because we *really* wanted to kill that particular messenger" is indeed a pretty hard sell in an industry supposedly built on credibility

Vox can't admit this because the story it whispers to itself at night is that its primary function is speaking truth to power. Vox is a very high variance publication. They have exceptional writers like
@dylanmatt and@KelseyTuoc (who wrote a long Twitter thread about why she was overly cautious in public in her Corona writing). -
I do find the stance some of their journalists are taking about their previous writing on Corona completely baffling though - like - the tweets and articles are archived. It's pretty hard to deny how badly they botched both the tone as well as the content early on.
