Awareness, precaution, and responsive action do not have to coexist with fear.
I think it's cool if you found your zen, but we're talking about an evolved adaptation that actually does a pretty good job when people listen to themselves for once

On that, I agree enthusiastically. I just have this annoying habit of playing the middle ground. Honoring the wise animal response without letting it define us.

The problem I see is people who have lived their entire lives in fear saying, "See, I told you." Just fuels more fear and more psychological contraction. FYI I highly value the rational medicine you and your intellectual colleagues offer in this age.
