Like much professional equipment/attire, it is probably designed for men. Many women military personnel on the ground in Iraq had severe pain and even injury from body armor, etc.

All of the PPE in hospitals is procured from the lowest bidder. Highly performant equipment doesn’t lead to bonuses for administrators; the cheapest shit they can find does.
As shared above we typically don’t have to wear PPE the whole shift and certainly not every shift day after day
