What I want: an online crash course in rudimentary nursing skills relevant to the novel coronavirus How should symptoms be monitored? Which symptoms can be alleviated, and how? What are the signs that hospitalization is necessary? What can you do if hospital care is unavailable?

What common conditions can be treated at home if hospitals are unsafe? How/when/with what? What issues common to the elderly, diabetics & people w/ heart disease can be managed at home, how, and what are the signs that the situation is severe enough to warrant possible exposure?

What I've read is that people should avoid ibuprofen. Personally I like to try to let a fever run as much as tolerable as it seems to be an adaptive mechanism. Also a personal favorite for me is chamomile tea - has consistently helped me with colds and can't hurt.

This is a solid overview of basic care, though maybe lacking the more thorough nursing information you might be looking for: https://covid-at-home.info/

A crash course in rudimentary nursing skills would be good just generally tbh

Here are the WHO guidelines. The time to get to the hospital is when you have trouble breathing. A pulse oximeter can help tell you if you’re getting enough oxygen. Otherwise look for signs of going blue or gasping & shortness of breath.https://www.who.int/publications-detail/home-care-for-patients-with-suspected-novel-coronavirus-(ncov)-infection-presenting-with-mild-symptoms-and-management-of-contacts …

Pulse ox is primary stat to measure for home care. You may want to pick up a cheap fingertip oximeter on Amzn if you have at-risk family/friends you may be called on to help, as I do. They're super cheap & plentiful, so you don't need to worry abt taking supplies needed by ERs

I've started a doc summarizing some other covid19 homecare info I pulled together. Can share as soon as done if helpful, but FYI care is mainly just supportive unless you're a doctor or have a home ventilator (joking, obv, no one reading this should go buying ventilators please)

It's pretty simple. You're monitoring for any shortness of breath (indicative of pneumonia). That's when it's time to go to the hospital. Other than that, you're treating it exactly as you would the symptoms of influenza, and you conduct yourself accordingly so as not to spread..

The virus to others. You shouldn't have a problem at this point with hospitalization, but assuming it ever gets to that point, finding a hospital is imperative in the case of acute shortness of breath... There are no home remedies for that
