SF mayor just announced an outright ban on gatherings of 1,000 people ...and then RT'd a reassurance that the city will avoid closing schools which, last I checked, could quite often be described as mandatory gatherings of 1,000+ people occurring 5 days/week & lasting ~7 hourspic.twitter.com/8skL5ZArOr

Children are NOT at risk. There is little to no chance of kids dying from the virus

The tell that probability is not your strong suit is “little to no chance”. ‘Even cases among children and teens aged 10 to 19 are rare. As of Feb. 11 there were 549 cases in that age group, 1.2% of the total, China CDC found. Only one had died.’https://www.statnews.com/2020/03/03/who-is-getting-sick-and-how-sick-a-breakdown-of-coronavirus-risk-by-demographic-factors/ …

Even now, very few are tested if they're asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms. We have quite strong evidence that children and teens are at a very, very low risk for severe illness or death, and we should be grateful for that. We can't conclude they're not carrying the virus.

How many school students live with older grandparents / relatives, or are exposed to them in the community? How many might unknowingly pass the virus to their parents who are service workers, who then pass it on further? Children are definitely a vector of transmission.
