We *should* moralize this. We should praise people who make sacrifices to quarantine themselves. We should praise people who offer help to those at high risk so they can stay home. We should criticize people who say "people my age don't die" and scoff at basic precautions.

What we absolutely must not do is conflate good pandemic manners with paranoia, "panic," stigmatizing, any sort of -ism. The last thing anyone should be worrying about is whether taking a few steps back from someone to keep the recommended 6-foot buffer will be seen as bigoted
