The sense in which Matt is correct, IMO, is that the typical Ivy checklist kid would be less likely to see Warren's constant personal narrative fudging as a significant problem. That's just how the game is played, in academics and in life. To everyone else, it's just lying.

I actually think the article has a solid point. It is because Warren aimed her campaign towards this group--educated people, activists, the media--that her key opening issue was something like this, that ordinary Americans don't understand or care about.

Matt's ilk don't care about "breaking up big tech" because they're smart, or even educated; they care about that because that's actually the closest thing to a real problem that they have. A piece about that would have been brilliant.

You seem to be disagreeing with the fact that educational attainment correlates with a particular candidate, but I don't see what the basis of that objection is?

At a not-following-politics level (which includes me, btw) Warren is an old woman, and I think that’s just the whole thing. It’s actually much harder for a woman to project charismatic strength.

Regardless of how you feel about her politics, Thatcher did this very well.

Article mentions there are more high school dropouts than masters degree holders to keep your social circle in perspective.

It's a nice explanation. They're saying voters are simply not smart enough to know what's good for them (Warren). Eating their own. Beautiful.

Charitable framing would be that academics at elite universities skew Warren. Polling seems to back that up. There's a difference between the claim "Warren supporters are smarter" and "Warren supporters are ivy league grads". Maybe some overlap, but it's not the same claim.
