not sure I believe this one, secondhand smoke studies are largely bullshit

Globally or just in the US/EU/UK? Just going by the sniff test, "standing next to too many smokers on the sidewalk could kill you" fails and "living in a small home with an indoor smoker could kill you" passes

number 8 is "diet low in fruits"? i call bullshit
-
Considered a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, mostly in Asian countries. All of the nutrition stuff is probably too contextual to take at face value, but that may also be sort of true of risk factors for chronic disease more generally

Drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco are orders of magnitude more widespread than illegal drugs in most of the non-Western world.

The key point is that if we were able to eliminate, say top 10 of these, would these people then live forever? All cause-of-death stats are BS, except for accidents. All other stats should be about how many years of life expectancy were lost, with some statistical corrections.

Hrmm... was going to object these are risk factors, not causes, but if this is based on http://www.healthdata.org/node/6765 , then apparently the study's data "met the GBD study criteria for convincing or probable evidence of causation."
-
What exactly that criteria is didn't reveal itself before I hit my effort limit of 2 or 3 google searches, so the world may never know.
