Frankly, the school system as it is relies on parents to willingly assume the role of an agent of that system. My broader take here is that if you want me to tell a child to listen to you or that he's the one in the wrong, you better be telling him something worth listening to or rebuking him reasonably, like you would any adult you respect. Otherwise, fuck off.

If the teacher can’t change the policy at the least they can tell the parent who they need to talk to in order to get that policy changed.
