As for my understanding of mental illness, it's something I've been researching for much of my life, especially starting in the early aughts, when I discovered my husband was suicidal and angry. (And I was a bit as well.) So I'm pretty attentive to harmful behaviors now.

I don't condone people imposing their trauma on others willy-nilly either, but I do understand that such people aren't doing it on purpose because they want to hurt others (of course there are other drives that manifest this behavior as well)
I don't think anyone here was trying to cut Visa down out of malice or for personal gain, but the frame there is extremely poorly calibrated and if there's a ring of eggshells around it things are about to get crunchy. Validating trauma projections ain't my jam
