"valuable enough to make people so satisfied that they no longer need you" this profoundly misunderstands the nature of human relationships by this logic, nobody should get married, because anybody you love enough to marry is someone you'd no longer need

> you'd have to be on a hair trigger to read him as ill-intended/machinistic vs. just a systems thinker typical mind fallacy, Mason. not everyone has your priors or defaults also: some people have been traumatized let's not overcorrect in the other direction here

I have what may be considered some pretty unsavory views on trauma, but I'm happy to say that I don't condone a society where my trauma is Visa's problem, and in such a society I don't think the prospects look good for those with trauma, either.

most people who are systematic thinkers still find it very difficult to actually behave as though these things are true, wheras some people clearly don't. this doesn't mean the signal is true (they could be operating on x or y different levels) but it doesn't mean its NOT true!

I never said he was ill-intended. But he does have a well researched and designed algorithm for gaining popularity. As opposed to just being a more open and realistic human, conversationally. Which was what I was originally complementing the other two folks about.

Visa is a nice boy and I can’t imagine anyone finding him threatening

I don't think anyone finds Visa threatening. I just find the other two people I was responding to more human, and thus interesting, than Visa, who acts like a "brand" trying to get famous using pop culture strategies.
