If I were being accused of "cultivating sources" in a manner so deceptive that it was compared to grooming a victim, I would probably be just a little less smug about ithttps://twitter.com/Jessicalessin/status/1219798151487352832 …

Frankly, guys, it's sort of on you if you talk to The Information from this point forward. These people have their heads so far up their own asses that they'll report on their own lack of journalistic integrity if there's some vague woke angle to take your eyes off the ball

Frankly, I'm just done with baby media outlets primarily staffed by trust fund kiddos running to their own audience with stories about how their subjects think they're doing an awful job. Here's a thought: maybe you fucking *are*

If you mislead, misquote or otherwise fuck with a source in business, they generally don't drag it into public because the social cost of a spat w the press is high, and usually perpetuates the bad story. Hell, in this case the same outlet tried to spin a *private rant* this way.

I'm not going to try to convince anyone that journalists sometimes leave out facts, refuse valid corrections or try to force info out of sources via veiled threats. But this does happen, which is why it's useful to notice when sources freeze out certain writers & publications
