To be clear: my stalker was denied bail & is currently in jail with 10 charges against him concerning multiple victims. I was assured the DA's office took the case seriously, especially bc his criminal behavior intensified after his first charges were deferred. Now? Who knows.
It's apparent that the ADA who was committed to seeing this through doesn't fit Chesa's vision for the office. No idea whether Chesa or his new hires will familiarize themselves with the case well enough before making a decision on whether or not to drop it.
This guy has claimed on multiple occasions to be watching me through the chapel windows. He's posted the addresses of other victims on e.g. 4chan, encouraging other users to rape them. No idea whether or not he's done that to me; he's less prone to boasting since his first arrest
People sufficiently insulated from this bullshit sometimes come to believe that *all* crime is fundamentally about poverty, or systemic injustice, or whatever. NOPE, guys. Some men get their rocks off scaring women. Some men eventually take it further. This isn't a joke.
Does this actually mean the case will be dropped? Or will the replacement prosecutor just pick up the case?
Replacement prosecutor. SF DA & PD offices are highly politicized and there's no civil service protections, so there's always a purge after an election.
He's tough on crime...fighters.
I honestly hope the degree of ignorance imparted by not having someone obsessively threaten harm to you or your family is a privilege you get to keep for the rest of your life.
I get the whole "its a new admin, new people come in for the big political jobs" thing. Every politician does that. But to disrupt existing cases without at least doing a robust transition plan is reckless and shows low sensitivity for crime victims.
