In many cases, the right to do business freely has been a — possibly *the* — cornerstone for true social justice for marginalized people.
It should go without saying, but it is very hard to subjugate a person who knows well that they can take their business elsewhere.
That is why all this "social net" bullshit in Europe is actually just a disguised elitism of the privileged. They don't want to see a "commoner" getting rich. They want everyone but politicians to be "equal".
I've long felt that economic freedom is the most fundamental freedom, and yet we are indoctrinated to view it as vulgar. We want people to work, to value themselves in what they earn and yet we have obscene, invasive taxes on labor.
