Nobody really believes that further regional destabilization or escalation of US involvement in the Middle East would help any president (or any candidate promising such a thing) win in election in 2020. Trump was wrong in 2011, and the idea has only become more laughable.

I agree, but my point is: in 2011 Trump thought starting a war is the smart thing to do for POTUS (projecting his attitude on Obama only caring about re-election) I’m not sure that since then Trump has grown much intellectually or morally, we still need “adults in the room”
