i don’t have much experience here but after practical stuff validating all of her feelings is a good next step. she may need to shut down / dissociate to get some distance and that may be for the best. help her take deep breaths. tell her you’re not judging her

If possible, order her something that's not super generic and indicates an understanding of her preferences. And if you can, opt for gift wrapping (e.g. through Amazon). It's all about reminding your friend that she's worth the effort!
