I have a hard time believing cult propoganda is actually being spread via a profoundly well-financed interpretative dance operation, but it *is* still 2019 and "why the fuck not" is very apparently the theme

I remember hearing about it in a podcast ep and then maybe reading an article about it afterwards? Long story short, i think it actually is kind of a cult, yea
-
Pretty sure the notion that it is a cult is actual Chinese propaganda...

Seeing any group of people performing identical actions to order makes me suspicious, even when it's something as beneficent as an orchestra playing Mozart. Other cases are creepierhttps://www.gse.harvard.edu/news/uk/14/12/education-immigrant-children …

Having seen the same endless ads - it's Chinese propaganda
@webdevMason right?? They're using the show to soft-sell the superiority of Chinese civilization. At least that's what I'm reading from the ad budget and canned pitch lines.... -
Not really? I guess you could say it's Chinese cultural propaganda, but definitely not state propaganda. They are affiliated with what was (is?) a major religious group and are definitely against the communist regime.
