I would say about 2/3 of the stores I go in, in the US now have contactless
I compulsively tell every cashier I encounter in the UK that we don't have contactless in the US. I don't know why I do this. It's just a confessatory tic

Yes, for some crazy reason, we still have to sign for credit card payments. As for contactless, I’m not sure what that is. I can pay with my phone

Since returning to Australia, I have not once had to swipe, insert, or sign with my credit card. Feels so weird being in SF, with all sorts of fancy futuristic tech, and yet being stuck with such a cumbersome payment process. And then someone goes and asks for a cheque...
