"Wine caves" is a strong meme for Current Day, both for the socialist-leaning left in earnest and their opposition in satire, because it so clearly illustrates that the perceived enemy is not necessarily power, but luxury itself.

It's really important that we achieve clarity on this, because the perspective worth fighting is the one that ends in cutting down the vines to prevent decadence. The problem isn't good wine, it's that there is not yet enough of it for everyone who'd like to have some to do so.

I agree! I presume in this case it's meant to be society's fault for containing people with nothing better to do with $900 than spend it on over-priced wine. Of course, this shifts responsibility away from individuals an on to "the system".
