If Gawker goes out of business because it can’t afford to insure its editorial voice, that’s different than it going out of business because someone exploited a contract. It’s not clear that bankrupting your enemies is justice either, if that’s what you’re getting at?

they went out of business for grossly violating someone's privacy. it's true that we have a culture where corporations can violate the law with impunity but I think that's a bad culture. everyone crying that a company actually faced consequences is disgusting.

No, they went out of business for pissing off a billionaire by gossiping about his sexuality. The revenge porn stuff is incidental.
