We would be in a very different place if the Democrats had made their peace with Trump's election and then evidence of impeachable offenses had emerged. As it stands I can't shake the sense that we are watching the republic come apart before our eyes.

Who cares about what partisans think? It doesn't matter. This is a historical moment and Impeachment is the right thing to do if one cares about the rule of law or the constitution.
I don't care about "historical moments." I care about the rule of law, and I also care about avoiding mass civil disruption & violence in the streets. I don't think you see what I'm trying to point at, so I'm not going to try further, but the stakes are anything but trivial.

My question to you would be: do you believe that behavior can be impeachable if it occurs as routine within most to all Presidential administrations, and is only now being brought to debate for impeachment when a political outsider is elected?

Any government elected should be held accountable, Ds or Rs, it doesnt matter which. Drain the swamp for real. Trump just happens to be yet another swamp member.
