The term "nuisance" didn't have anything to do with the merits of the case, it was about Thiel's desire to use it as a stick to drive a company out of business. But it it makes you feel better to call me a sick fuck, please go right ahead

Oh, fuck off. There aren't a lot of ways to misinterpret "nuisance lawsuit." You know exactly what you're doing, and you don't care. I hope you stay far away from people who have been victimized in this fashion.

I think I'm more than a few notches further from "rape apologist" than you are, and I'm happy sticking with that.

It's amazing that you can come to those kinds of conclusions based on a single tweet. You don't know anything about me, just as I don't know anything about you. Just because I don't like what Thiel did to Gawker doesn't make me a rape apologist

I know exactly what Thiel did, I researched and wrote about it while it was happening. Did you do that? Thiel funded lawsuits against Gawker for a decade trying to find one to put them out of business. Does that sound fair to you?

I know Thiel paid legal fees. I know he had a vendetta against Gawker. So fucking what? Gawker was so horrifically disregarding of this guy's right to sexual privacy that a jury awarded $25m in punitive damages. Would you have preferred Gawker successfully kept this out of court?

In what insane world do the motivations of the person paying the lawyers' fees dictate whether or not the victim of a very real and very significant sexual violation deserves their day in court? If a friend helps pay my bills, do I deserve any less justice? FFS, man.

But it wasn't about this case at all – Thiel funded any and all lawsuits against Gawker regardless of merit so that he could drive them under. That's a little different than your friend helping pay your bills for a single case

Somehow, you still don't get that even though this is all about Thiel *for you,* for some of us, the victim of the crime, and the people who perpetrated and then perpetuated it, are the more central figures. The ones you'll throw out to get to Thiel. Is it starting to click yet?
