(Also: nasty stuff does happen to me on the street more often than for most. IMO, this is partly because I walk vs. take transit whenever feasible & partly because lone women do attract aggression from the worst people. One look at me and you know I'm not going to beat you up.)

Londoners are lovely in many ways. But pretty sure we help each other with bags because it’s the law to move very fast in tube stations. We’d literally rather carry your bags for you than be delayed by 1 second.
