If you're a slower thinker, dyslexic, have a poor working memory, etc... you may need to make greater use of workarounds & external tools, and you may still be slower. So what? None of these are a limitation nearly as devastating as disinterest, and we never talk about that one!

There can be an unreality enforced by schooling, a sense that the game of performance on tests and acculturation to the school environment is a perfect proxy for the world itself and not a sideshow game. I tend to think part of the lust for credentials is this mentality run amok.
