I really enjoy the vast majority of your work and thoughts, but disagree with this sentiment. Fostering Independence and helping your child learn the skill of how to go to sleep by him/herself is important. There is definitely a fine line between Independence and neglect, but 1/2

sleep training imho falls on the side of a + overall - I do believe it's a deeply personal choice, but especially for new parents trying to navigate the shame/guilt of choosing between sleep training or cosleeping - there are huge second level benefits to having rested parents
