This isn't *only* personally destructive. Progress isn't... hard, exactly, but it requires a sort of nurtured obsession that we're currently discouraging in both kids and adults. It requires a lumpiness in both cognition and lifestyle that looks weird to the managerial hierarchy

Despite leaning fairly left, I don't agree that "billionaires shouldn't exist" in the sense of preventing people from becoming billionaires. And I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the desire to be wealthy. Can I ask though - if you have such a desire, why? 1/2
I ask why, cos' though the wealthy can have a whole lot, they can't have anything they want - even Trump has been blocked from buying certain plots of land. And, I've never heard of over 90% of the people on the Forbes 400. They too will be a footnote in history. So why?
