Tech savvy enough to work in the gig economy, not enough to understand computer routes are better.

As an Uber driver, the apps gps sometimes privileges shorter distances over shorter times, and chooses different routes than Waze or Google would. It also chooses routes based on its perceived intitial direction. So there are choices for the passengers to make in some cases.

Just this morning, I took an 8-minute trip of about 3 miles for $8. Received a receipt via the system for a 45-minute trip for $25 from completely different points. Already contacted Uber.
