I wish I could say that I saw the car, but it came up from behind and the first shots were fired into my back, which caused me to bend over & reflexively shield my face. I heard the pops & felt sharp pains, briefly thought I was going to die. They sped off before I saw anything.

I don't want to leave the SFBA, but as I was stepping into the bath I caught sight of myself in the mirror. 6 angry bruises on my back, hip & neck. If this living situation were a boyfriend, I'd leave him, but instead I'm like, "OK, just NEVER go outside when the sun is setting."

Huge thanks to all the friends & twitter followers who reached out. Aside from being a bit banged up, I'm fine, and didn't need medical attention. I'm sad about feeling increasingly unsafe when walking alone, but I don't feel traumatized. Thank you for all the support.

I've felt broadly grateful for the incredible support from you guys, especially when my stepfather took his life earlier this year. You've all been really great. Life is hard for almost everyone, but a lot of you go out of your way to remind others you care. That's really special

Report it to police and give them the exact time and location. Many areas have license plate readers so if they are doing this to several people- they should be able to look for a common plate at the scene of each occurrence to lock down the car.

That sucks. The same thing happened to me when I was riding a bike years ago, and the paint in the balls was red, so I really thought I was shot for a few seconds! You got hit more times, though. I wonder if you might be able to get surveillance video from somewhere nearby?
