Please vote, and please listen to JD here. Property crime disproportionately impacts people who can't afford home security systems, don't have access to on-site lockers/garages for packages, bikes & cars, & simply have to go without when something of theirs is stolen or smashed.https://twitter.com/justindross/status/1191753299847872512 …

It is not compassionate or progressive to sustain the highest property crime rates in the country. It's local government + law enforcement's job to protect people who are trying to put a life together from scratch, before they have the financial bandwidth to protect themselves.

Why do people do property crimes? Maybe out of desperation due to skyrocketing cost of living? There are much more effective ways to spend the cost of locking people up

First off, organized criminal rings are responsible for a great deal of the theft occurring in SF. Second, the court system here provides access to a *lot* of mental health, addiction recovery & education services. It's not just about locking people up.
