This is from a debate on a topic and the speaker is a talented debater student. The state of debate is fucked up, but this isn't pedagogy.
I listened to the entire thing — I can't speak to the state of debate as an organized activity. The speaker is not talented with regard to argumentation.

I just added that since my first impression from your tweet was that this was in a classroom setting. If the speaker’s Ryan Walsh, he’s a championship debater who got there with that style. It’s...definitely not good that this wins, but the style of debate before was bad too.

If this is a "style" of debate that wins, it's clearly a great gift to bad faith conversation elsewhere, and I will absolutely be the last person to cede any credibility to its spread.
