Advantages over a private twitter account: I can choose the character limit, play with threading & treat threads like docs (e.g. name them, put them in the sidebar), allow editing(!), add my own features as needed. And of course, not risk accidentally posting to the wrong account

Probably will — I'm building it in python/flask, which I'm sure not everyone will appreciate, so maybe someone will port it over to one of the popular js frameworks

This is awesome! I'm building something similar where the writing surface is on a design canvas. Infinite space in two dimensions and you can drag text around and such. I'm also toying with the idea of "genres" which would be related tweets but not necessarily a thread.
