NYT article about SF homelessness; someone saying that they sympathize with many of the homeless but, having had their dog attacked by an unleashed pit bull apparently owned by someone passed out on the sidewalk, has hit a limit. Reply: "you attack them too, with your affluence"

I've written about this before: when I was living in Venice, I met several nice homeless people with well-behaved dogs who took them to the park. I wish them the best. And if my housed neighbors were inebriated on the doorstep or let their dogs attack mine, I'd be equally pissed.
