Accepting this challenge, I scrolled through my contacts to see who I hadn’t checked in with in a while, and I got to my sister...

~A year ago, I hand wrote and mailed a professor who totally changed my life. A few days later, he emailed me sharing that his wife’s cancer had resurfaced and had also had several family members pass recently. He remarked that my letter was “like balm.” I will never forget that.
FYI, we both come a Christian background, and in that tradition, balm is a symbolic gesture of healing.
It wasn’t today, but my brother. We didn’t speak for a couple of years after some family drama between our mom and his wife. Now I’m flying to North Carolina in two weeks to see him and give him a hug for the first time in awhile.
Reached out to a friend from 1st grade. What a great idea, thank you for suggesting it.
We planned some yurt camping in Colorado with a bunch of fellas from then. Should be a sweet reunion.
I'm going to organise a Sunday lunch with a good friend of mine. She's being extremely supportive. Thank you for the idea.
Thank you for reminding me. It has been a while since I contacted my parents. I did so today. No need for a follow unless you're really into David Deutsch and Popper :P
I just did it, before reading this tweet... and I also decided writing to two old colleagues of mine I haven't heard of for a while. Your tweet is a good tweet, good to be reminded to be humans sometimes.
