I sort of wish he'd responded by pulling out his phone and said 'Based on a cross reference of the two groups using strictly the information provided to FB in their profile...' and produced a number. But he probably wants to keep his job.

Your joke is not in good faith. They were asking him very general, principle-level questions about Facebook's policies and how FB balances fact checking vs. freedom of political speech. When they cut him off it was when it would become clear that he was BSing and wasting time.
