I prob think this is a harder problem than you do, while admitting that your opinion in particular is clearly enough to update on. (But I would feel very differently about this were it e.g. Stripe, a large company with consistently demonstrated & highly relevant tech competency.)
FWIW, I would guess that BoA is actually particularly good at data security stuff relative to the total pool of companies that size. What worries me is that they're a target representing an absurdly massive pot, & probably not super forward-thinking/quick to move

I’d agree that they’re likely not as agile in terms of new trends/technology adoption, the question is whether that’s an intrinsically bad thing. I for one don’t join a bank because they’re running serverless

There’s value in not being the first to market in tech, especially if that’s not your USP. Waiting for it to mature means you miss the headaches, hidden costs, and delays from early (and often unnecessary) adoption

Totally unsure. Eg, compare their app to *anything* at scale in health care and BofA objectively wallops. Not sure whether that's more of a statement about BofA or of health care, but hard to see it as a slam dunk either way.
