People who push left want capitalism *reigned in*, specifically in limited areas where government-controlled systems are known to be more helpful for most people (e.g. healthcare). No one is seriously calling for capitalism to be *abolished* (not in significant numbers).

And even in the case of healthcare, lefties don't want *all* capitalism abolished. Like, when we have m4a, there will still be plenty of opportunities for capitalism to thrive in the healthcare sector! ...

...it's just that capitalism will not have any say in the question of *whether* anyone has healthcare. That's not communism; it's reasonably-regulated capitalism.

I have people who advocate for communism and/or socialism in my family, who are members of an actual socialist party, which presumably we both know exists because one of them is running for president. I'd go on, but you're not going to be persuaded if you can't use your own eyes.

We have a DSA candidate polling consistently in the 2nd/3rd position in a crowded primary field, running on a platform centered on functionally capping individual wealth. I don't know what these folks expect a cultural shift toward communism/socialism to look like, if not this
