Not all of them planned this or do it on principle. One driver told me he only started homeschooling because his daughter was being systematically bullied in school, and once he saw her capacity for learning outside of a formal environment could not justify ever sending her back

Yes also I had a chat with someone yesterday who was like talking about parents who can’t afford to leave their job, both parents hav to work, she was like those kids are the ones who need a lot of attention and love. And I think this is very true.

I also believe that even though I am a stay at home mom on the records. And I homeschooled my daughter until this year but as this project started growing I chose to put her in school because I could not figure out any other sustainable options. I still try to keep it short

I get the sentiment, but isn’t the point not that the freelancer will now be required to be in the office 40 hours per week, but that the employer will have to provide some defined thing (benefits, etc)?

Most businesses that stay in CA & hire contractors now will just have to restructure to accommodate a smaller staff with better benefits. Some will just hire a larger pool of contractors & give each less work. Some will leave the state, I'm sure.
