If cronyism is the problem, do you not feel any obligation to say that from the get-go? Blaming "capitalism" for a situation where local policy is preventing supply from meeting demand despite plenty of interest in entering the market seems a bit disingenuous
I say "a bit disingenuous" because this is actually the least disingenuous aspect of your (really, really absurd) reply. It's pretty shitty to mock people for not wanting to dodge human shit or used needles on the sidewalk, or be screamed at, chased or manhandled by strangers.
Cronyism is tough to root out wherever you have elected officials with their own private interests, especially operating under any level of opacity, and a citizenry with private property rights. This doesn't preclude worse conditions if you eliminate either elections or property.
