I spend a lot of time thinking about the masculine warrior drive, the suppression of male aggression and the organization of institutional outlets, etc. I'm not sure what to make of it, but I think it's funny that some people think I'm too trad, but *this* is just sport

I will say — even among the stereotypically manly types I know who like to throw punches at each other for fun, the cranium is sacred. Break ribs, not skulls.

Also with huge gloves you can throw harder punches with less risk of breaking your fists. And damage accumulates over rounds as well, I guess.
