About 5 minutes before I saw your tweet, above that in my feed was a tweet relaying a statement from Apple about why they were banning an app that Hong Kong protesters were using to watch for police crackdowns. Most people would describe Apple as a valuable company; and yet.

For whatever it’s worth I share your concern about cutting off productive enterprises out of unspecific fear. But by the same token, defending those enterprises has to include a realistic appraisal of a LOT of externalized costs which much effort has been put into ignoring.
