About 5 minutes before I saw your tweet, above that in my feed was a tweet relaying a statement from Apple about why they were banning an app that Hong Kong protesters were using to watch for police crackdowns. Most people would describe Apple as a valuable company; and yet.

Profitability sways to the tune of preference. Don't worry, Apple will *kind of* pay, and then it *kind of* won't. The buyer always ultimately sets the price, and we're cheaper by fhe day. Worse yet when we outsource.

Don't blame the billionaires. Blame the system. The wealth distribution socio-economic system we've set up after WW2 to benefit a strong middle class is falling apart bcos of financial market liberalization & technology. We just haven't kept pace with the changes.
